New Hot Water Heater

Well by looking at the title you already now what this is going to be about; yes, you guessed it, we got a new hot water heater. So here's the backstory:

Down in Adam's room we've been having an area in the carpet that is just crazy wet. So after a couple weeks of this, big man Grant called our landlord and he got someone out to look at it. So funny story now.

This morning, Matt was asleep in his underwear on the couch and I saw the repair guy pulling in. So I went to go get Grant to let him know that he's here. But the repair guy was super fast and knocked at the door before I could get back up so Matt answered the door in his underwear. Funny stuff.

So the hot water heater was put in then the walls were built around it so they had to take out part of the wall to get it out and put the new one in. So here's what else happened today.

Kyle has VOWED to not take a shower for a whole week but NOW I just heard that he did take a shower today. I was going to keep a daily blog about his non-shower vow. But he is now a LIAR!!!

Well I'm over it. But now Andrew can get back to 38 min showers and Matt can sing as loud as he wants early in the morning while he takes showers, and Kyle can I guess take one for a change. As for Grant and Adam, I have nothing sarcastic to say about them cause I like them.

That is all.

Just To Be With You

Here is the short video that our film group, JARRA, shot for Apple's Insomnia Film Festival a couple months ago. We got the results back and we didn't win but o-well we had a great time making it. Here's a little premise of the video:

Jessica and David don't watch movies like a normal couple; they enjoy it in their own way. Jessica is deaf while David is blind, but they like to get out and live life like everyone else. Enjoy!

Foamed Pill Friends

Well also today Andrew gave Kyle and I a gift, what was the gift? At first I thought they were pills which really had me worried but he told us to soak it in hot water. So we did so and here's what they became.

I ain't afraid of no ghost!!

Well the last couple of weeks when Kyle, my roommate, and I go to bed, in separate beds, we've been hearing a lot of strange noises. So yesterday my little friend Nate got on my shoulders and poked his head through the "manhole" but saw nothing. So then again when I was trying to fall asleep I heard this "sound" of moving or something right above me and I was freaking out.

Now to today. I hoisted Kyle up there with a flashlight and a machete; I followed with my camera. We saw nothing but a lot of insulation (which is good). He searched and didn't see anything. So tonight when I go to bed, if and when we hear the sounds it is my turn to go up and check.

In the words of the Ghostbusters theme song, "I ain't afraid of no ghost!"

Andrew was real helpful.

My Prayer

So I was sitting working on a paper for one of my classes and I was listening to some music and this song really sums up my life right now. Just thought I'd share it.

Slick Shoes
"Not That Far"

Looking back what can I say?
There's been things done the wrong way.
I have tried.
Sometimes it's hard.
All the time I've wasted didn't get me far.
I try to live my life right, but it seems so hard.
Why have I not used your help?
Now I see your sacrifice for me.
Now I know your watching over me.
Now I know I'll never be alone.
I hope you're not ashamed of me.
I haven't been the best.
I hope I'm not the worst.
Help me live my life for you.

I can't do it on my own.
I need your help.
If you're not tired of me, I really need your help.
Now I see your sacrifice for me.
Now I know your watching over me.
Now I see the greatness of your love.
Now I know I'll never be alone.
I'm tired of wasting all this time.
Help me live my life.
I can't do it all alone.
Please stay by my side.

The Temptation of Adam

One of my favorite songs right now by Josh Ritter, a local Idahoan. This song "The Temptation of Adam" really displays the love and the conflict that this man goes through. There are two people down in a missile silo hatch taking care of it and the guy falls in love with the lady down there with him. The lyrics are so poetically written that it tells of the guy's selfish but love-driven thinking of blowing up the world to keep them both down in the hatch. I love what Josh Ritter has done with this song with its playfulness, love story, and even perhaps Biblical tie in. I just want you all to listen to this song and even buy the album that it is from, "The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter" because it is great!!!

"I think about the big red button and I'm tempted."

An Ode to Greatness

Well this blog was first setup for my family who live all over the U.S. but now I want to take it a step further because of a great pal of mine, Andrew, who just setup his own blog a couple days ago and is just writing about his days.

So far I've been trying to live my life just doin homework, havin some fun, and then sleeping and waking up the next day doing the same thing over and over again. I am now living each day to the best that I can, taking advantage of nature, reading, friends, family, and anything else that interests me. A couple days ago my friend Andrew and I went out hiking out at Jump Creek for a good amount of time. We had a great time just hanging out and climbing; we got up on top of a cliff and just relaxed, pulled out a book, and started enjoying life. This is something that I want to do more of; no cares in the world and just a beautiful landscape in front of me with my pal.

That's about it for right now. This is kinda weird for me to just write things without posting pics or somethin but I'll adapt, reapt, then readapt.
