No Longer the New Guy

Today I am no longer considered the "new guy" at work. We just hired a new flash designer who is a year younger than me. This past week has felt really good at work; my coworkers and I joke around, get lunch together, and shoot nerf guns at each other. I know how the new guy is feeling so I'm gonna try and help him out since I was just there.

I am now known as "Wonder Kid" or "the Closer". I finish up projects or I come through for the business when all has gone wrong.

Work Situation

This is the outside of DTX Creative. It is a two story/basement house converted into an office; that's how this section of Boise is like. The creative team works on the second floor.

These are our workstations. Katie, the intern, and myself are out here. There is another person but he only works when we have a lot of work and we might be hiring another person shortly. Then in another office is my project manager, John, and Brett; my boss, David, has his own office too.

This is my desk. I have three monitors for video editing which is neat. It is really bare but I hope to bring a couple things in to make it my own space.

*There I've finally put up some pics and yes it is always dark in there. One thing I don't like.

Trace Produce

so the project i was working on got finished and their is a link where you can go and watch it. so if you'd like to see what i worked on go here: http://www.dtx.us.com/reviews/trace-produce/

i edited the background video, shot and edited Doug (guy), shot or helped shoot all the background video too.

13+

today i worked 13+ hours. a long day, but i didn't do much. my very first project, that i headed, was due today and i finished my stuff up on time but my boss took a little longer with his and then we had some computer issues when trying to render it. it is due tomorrow afternoon and when i left the office around 9p.m. it still had 16hrs to go. we'll see tomorrow.

*P.S. i will try and get pics seriously. i just moved to a new workstation and pieced two computers together to make mine better oh and i have 3 monitors now! most in the office. it shouldn't be too crazy this week so i will have my camera tomorrow so hopefully some pics.

just somethin

i recently watched October Sky and i have to say that every time i watch it i become more inspired to dream big and not let obstacles get in my way. i tend to start or think up things and not complete them and i want to be able to look back and see that i set out to do something amazing and actually did it. i am inspired to tell great stories and to create my own; i challenge you to do the same.

list of thoughts

(1) as much as we fill our lives with material things; they never fulfill the inner longings of our hearts.

(2) sometimes the things we don't want to hear are the things we need to hear.

(3) we all struggle, day/night; we are no better than anyone.

(4) acting on God's nudges are the way to go; don't ignore them.

(5) Christmas music is sometimes the music you need to hear.

(6) we all need people to talk to; tell our happinesses, fears, worries, goals, and frustrations to. lend an ear.

(7) love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. i tend to forget that.

DTX Creative

So this last week I started a new job! I am working full time at DTX Creative in downtown Boise. I am an entry-level designer/video production person. DTX Creative is a web design/video production company; they specialize in creating logos and high end interactive websites for businesses as well as commercials. I enjoy it a lot more than I expected; the people are very nice and I am never bored because every day has something new for me to work on or learn. I am thankful for all of the prayers and help with my job search; so thank you. I am going to try and snap some pics of work this next week.

This is my workstation; it is messy cause we haven't fully moved everyone to their new workstations.
